I’ll bet that this is now the 24th Street Theater, a repertory theater open at 1117 West 24th Street.
Thirded!
Now the Addis Evangelical Church of San Diego.
Just an empty lot now – you can easily see where the twin screens would have gone, back-to-back. Should be listed as closed for sure.
This is the drive-in’s website: http://29drive-in.com/
Opened July 15, 1970 with 299 seats: http://issuu.com/boxoffice/docs/boxoffice_071772
I wonder if that building marked “Wellington” at 227 North Pacific couldn’t have been the theatre, once upon a time.
Now at Noka Oi restaurant at this address.
Now presenting “Fine Dining,” whatever that means.
Now a Target.
Nothing left of the Lynn / Laguna at 250 Ocean but a newish looking multi-story office building – right next to the Historical Society, by the way.
I’ve seen records of a Lomita Theatre listed at 1063 Narbonne Avenue – had the numbers of the street changed at some point?
So the theatre building wasn’t razed to make way for the bank building that currently sits on the site?

The building’s still there.
The building looks like it’s still standing – on GoogleMaps you can clearly see where the roll-up door was the entrance.
So is this theatre the same as this theatre?

Wonder what ever happened to Cinema 76!
Looks like whoever was doing remodeling, judging from the photo on GoogleMaps, ran out of money. “Azteca” is still there.
Whatever happened to the building, there’s a cinema (chain?) at this address now.
Theatre building is still standing.
Now a police station on the site of a former Costco.
Entirely obliterated.
Yet another industrial complex now.
Now a WalMart and an Albertsons on the site – pretty big drive-in indeed.
The Roadium, under which the drive-in operated as in 1950, should be listed as an a.k.a.
