Visited this theater for the first time on February 29, 2016 for a FathomEvents program, a Neil Young double feature. Nice multiplex. New picture in the Photos section.
I was driving west on Interstate 70 by the Kansas-Colorado border today (February 23, 2016) when I spied the upright blade sign for Burlington, Colorado’s Midway Theater heading east on the back of a truck. The multi-colored marquee is on its way for further restoration, and the renovation of the theater is fully underway. Too bad nobody has pictures or stories of the Majestic in Scott City? A new picture of the building in the Photo section.
Judging by the marquee, looks like the Plains got its new projector and is now a first run house. New picture in the Photo section.

I saw The Thing with Kurt Russell here in 1982 – by then, the Federal was a dark, dank dollar-house venue.
Picture taken in spring 1994.
Picture taken April 1989? Is that Jackie Chan’s Speed Zone on the marquee (obscured by trees)?

A nice marquee shot, but it does not appear to be the current Ellis marquee.
