Easley – The Old Colony Theatre – Said to be a ghost that haunts the old Colony Theatre in downtown Easley. The theatre was built on a house were a woman hung herself. People have heard strange noises in the balcony of the Colony Theatre, and have seen a women in the window.
I can’t map out 127 S. El Paseo in Redondo Beach. I get the feeling that the street was obliterated during redevelopment. As many times as I’ve been through the area, I’ve never seen a building resembling the Capitol. Mu hunch is that it has long been replaced by condos.
The ad on the far right was in the LA Times in March 1947. People were somewhat perturbed about the advent of the atomic weapons era: http://tinyurl.com/26qu9w
I called the number that was listed on one site today as I thought the theater might have reopened. I spoke to a nice woman, probably Mrs. Koons, who lives above the theater. She confirmed that the Moon has been closed since 1994.
It looks like the city offices are still in the north end of the mall, but the theater is gone, as Pete pointed out in 2002. Status should be closed/demolished.
The bar is called the Knock Knock Club.

I heard that this theater was once damaged in a quake, through no fault of its own.
I wonder if the town had any problems with its name during WW II.
