Older people might find Inception confusing and violent but younger moviegoers will appreciate the movie more often.

JJD You do not know what you saw in Inception? It was a WASTE of 2.5 hours of your life? Maybe aliens came down and put a “freeze” on your brain BEFORE the movie!!!

How was Despicable Me, JJD? I heard it was good, even in 3D.

I saw Inception too (on IMAX). I went with two friends and NONE of us have any idea what we saw. There was dead silence in the theater during and after the movie. I wonder how many people have any idea what they saw. That’s 2&½ hours of my life I’ll never get back. I’ll stick to stuff like “Dragon” and “Despicable Me”.

Yeah,We have an IMAX here in Augusta,I hardly ever go to the movies anymore after seven years in business i always find myself on the “look”.Guess like a cop. I will notice a wad of gum on the screen when I am sure no else sees it,At least my kids never did.People that know much more than I about IMAX swear the Regal here does not have true IMAX.Whatever that means,Good luck with “INCEPTION” hopefully you can enjoy it in peace.

Ur Welcome Mike. From now on, If i want to see a big event movie like Inception that is coming out in IMAX, I’ll see it in the IMAX screen. Not for the faint of heart.

Thanks Justin,Just checking In.It must really take something I no longer have to watch a movie with a bunch of kids. And then on top of that have them wave at the screen.

I went to this theater’s IMAX for Inception and enjoyed the movie. The surround sound was booming and loud and clear, the screen was taller than what it was before IMAX, although I saw some pixels since I sat two rows above the non-stadium seating level. Despite that, I’ll still go to the IMAX since I don’t have to go all the way to Manhattan or West Nyack to watch IMAX. The only trailers that were shot in true imax were Tron Legacy and the IMAX presentation trailer. No AMC trailers were shown during the presentation. Maybe AMC should create a version of their jungle preview lol.

If you have money in the stock market, RealD just issued an IPO today that was higher than most of the stocks that were down in the market today. The ticker is RLD. If anyone sees Inception in IMAX, hopefully it’s good. Too bad that most of the digital screens are being reserved for the three 3D movies. Slimshady, will more 3D screens be added by the time Cats and Dogs 2 comes out?

i was at the theater last night for twilight eclipse. THe only thing that distracted me and my stepmom from watching the movie was that some kids near the front seats near the screen waved their hands near the screen, creating some shadows that were annoying. They also threw some popcorn and candy in our seats, which was annoying. At least the young kids didn’t talk loud during the movie, which was good. So as of right now, 3 3-D movies (1 of which was fake) and one Liemax movie that wasn’t shot in imax are playing. I will rather see inception in a real imax theater as well as seeing it in digital 4k if Rockaway stops showing airbender 3d.

Just checking up on The stories.Talked to some adults that took the kids to Toy Story 3-D and everyone of the adults hated the glasses, guess kids don’t mind?

I agree. I usually sit in the middle near the guardrail above the seats that share with the disabled sections just to get an immersive view. While not the best view due to being close to the screen (blurriness can happen unless if I see a movie in 4k 3d), it allows my knees to go up on the guardrail.

Thanks Justin. That’s what I thought. So even if we wind up in a smaller capacity theater, we still get the same large screen as the larger capacity theaters. One drawback…people who prefer the back rows would probably feel more comfortable in the larger theaters.

I like the fact that all 15 screens are identical in size and scope. The screens are big when it’s matted and small when in scope.

Should have asked this a long time ago…are the screens the same size in each of the 15 theaters (IMAX excluded, of course). It seems they are. It seems the widths of the theaters are the same too and that capacity is determined only by number of rows (seats).

I think this is just in time for Last Airbender (a 3D conversion) and Despicable Me (created by computer and done for 3D), not to mention the sequel to Cats and Dogs (which played at the old Rockaway) in fake 3D. I read that Clash of the Titans 2 will be true 3D. Toy Story 3 was a true 3D movie and made good use of it for realism rather than for gimmicks. Once the price of 3DTVs go down to where they become affordable, attendance for 3D movies might slow down as people enjoy 3D gaming, sports, movies, and perhaps the news!!!

Just came back from seeing Toy Story 3 in RealD 3D. It was worth enjoying in 3D. Even the Preshow had a 3D section which was kinda cool. The only thing that wasn’t in 3D was the trailer for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which I won’t spend my money on. The short that played before the movie was also funny, mixing 2-D figures alongside a 3-D background.

As for this weekend, Avatar is just $1,000,000 shy of breaking the $750 million mark, and that number could increase to $800 million if the re-release does well. I doubt that would happen due to the film being out on bluray and dvd for a limited time before the extended version comes out later this year.

Around $41 million. The only other new release, Jonah Hex, bombed.
