They are showing “Under The Same Moon” on February 6 and 7, 2009. Spanish audio with English subtitles. The film equipment is gone so I am assuming they are now showing videos/DVD’s.
This is a rural/farming community and the city is nowhere near the size of San Francisco. The Chehalis is heated with steam heat from a boiler under the small stage. It costs alot to heat this building in the winter.
Operated by Dorothea Mayes, United Theatre Service. Same company who own & operate the Skyline Drive-in Theater (Shelton, Wash.) and the Shelton Cinemas (Shelton, Wash. formerly called the Franklin Plaza Twin theater).
The Neptune Twin is located behind the go-kart track. Theater is about 15 years old I think.
They are primarily into the business end of movie theater operations. Studio and film distributor contacts are there as well as film bookers. You can spend hours there reading the FAQ since your questions have been asked (and answered) there many times.
There are many folks who own & operate classic theaters on the forums too.
I much prefer 35mm film prints not big screen tv.

Any more updates? When is the theater going to open/ Has it got a website yet? Any interior pictures yet? Did the new seats get installed?
Zoning-zoning-zoning. If you can’t get proper zoning first you’re screwed.

My friend, Dave Fazende, who was operating this theater has passed away suddenly. That is the reason it is now operated by Faraway Entertainment.

Ron:
The McMenamins Olympic Club in Centralia is already doing what you mentioned and they are struggling to stay open too.

I have a blowup of that full ad somewhere in my collection.
60 seats and big screen tv. Sounds more like the living room experience.
380 speakers and all it takes is one blown one to screw the whole thing up.
Have you checked out the theaters for sale/lease threads at www.bigscreenbiz.com yet?
A new website for the Fox Theater in Centralia, Washington:

Any updates? When will it open? Is there a website?
The theater now has a brand new marquee! I would have never believed it would happen with our city sign ordinances being so restrictive.
So with no sound control fabric there anymore, how much of an echo is there to garble movie dialog?
If the theaters aren’t cared for, then video projectors are NOT going to help. In fact, since they cost so much, you’ll see LESS care in the theaters!
Universal lost all of their 35mm rep prints in that big fire early this summer. They said no to striking new prints.
I certainly would NOT attend a theater running video projectors.
Theater is open and operating. Three day a week operation.
What a wasted idea. I predict this theater will fold in a year.
