Bruce1 – I live in Manhattan and have Time Warner cable. I’d love to see your shows on the Kings. Any chance they will be shown here? If so, pls let me know when. Thanks—
Theaterat – I spent a lot of time in the Brook. I felt very bad that day in 1984 when I watched the seats being tossed into the back of a truck. I spent even more time in the Nostrand, yet another lost Century theater from the old neighborhood. Both buildings are still standing, but not functioning the way we’d like them to be.
The Century Kings Plaza opened in 1970. This opening, unfortunately, must have contributed a few years later to the demolition of the beautiful Century Marine Theater a few blocks away. The Marine was on Flatbush off Kings H'Way. I hope the Loew’s Kings doesn’t join the Marine and remains standing!
Did anyone else attend the Warner Bros festival a few years back? They ran everything from “Casablanca” to “The Exorcist”. It was general admission, and I sat in the first mezz each night. I don’t know how many people were above me, but the orchestra section appeared full every day. No stage show, but it was still great. Why can’t they do that again, perhaps one week a year? I’ve emailed them more than once, but never got a response.
I’m amazed by the relentless Christian-bashing by many on this page. Multitudes exit the Music Hall each December grateful for having the true message of Christmas presented. That includes many life-long NYC residents, of which I am one. My parents took me for the first time on my 4th birthday in December, 1969. I plan to continue to bring my family for many years to come.
I walked by yesterday. It looks like the scaffolding is there because a large billboard is about to be placed on the building above the marquee. Nothing else appeared to be going on.

CConnolly-William Friedkin attended the showing and said as much from the stage.

The curtain was working when I saw “The Day After Tomorrow” last summer. It was the only good thing about that movie!
Bruce1, please provide those details when you get them. I know some others here in Manhattan who’d also like to see it. Thanks—
