Since Albuquerque is going to have two Icon Cinemas (the first City to have more than one Icon Cinemas), they are going to renamed this one Icon Cinemas San Mateo NE.
Silver Cinemas closed Ladera 6 Cinema on December 3, 1999 making December 2, 1999 it’s last day. The last movies they played were Blue Streak, Bats, Inspector Gadget, The Haunting, Drive Me Crazy, The Adventures of Elmo In Grouchland, Stir of Echoes, and Runaway Bride.
General Cinema closed this theater on September 25th making September 24th the last day while showing Air Bud: Golden Receiver, Ever After: A Cinderella Story, and Rush Hour. Also during the last few years of the theater existing they changed the name to General Cinema Park Square At Louisiana Boulevard I-II-III
Century 14 Downtown is closing permanently due to it’s 20 Year lease is expiring. October 16, 2021 is its last day. The ‘Theatre Block, LLC’ partnership officially bought the building in March of this year, with plans to remodel it and convert it into multiple movie production studios.
Flix Brewhouse Albuquerque is reopening it’s doors on September 30, 2021 after closing due to the pandemic and waiting for the state to give the theater funds.
Actually this theater didn’t get a chance to reopen on May 21st because they’re struggling to pay the landlord during the pandemic. The theater is not closing permanently but it is taking awhile for them to reopen.

This theater actually closed around November 2006. it’s been standing there 2021 when a Liquor Store brought that building.
