I checked my 1956 Motion Picture Almanac and found only Revere Drive-in. It might have been built later,or earlier and closed. Quite a few did when Television hit.

TLSLOEWS.I still think you could work up a good story or two on your NASHVILLE theatres like Nick is doing. KNOXVILLE is smaller than NASHVILLE,but has alot more theatre stories.

Mike Rogers commented about Belmont Drive-In on Apr 26, 2010 at 11:42 am

Great Article Raysson.I met Mrs.Peggy several times. We would hit CAROWINDS in the day and drive across town on the interstate to Belmont.I oftened wondered if there was a short cut the locals used. But she was a top theatre person, one i would have been happy to work for. The BELMONT is listed as one of my favorite THEATRES.

The PLAZA Theatre was going strong in the summer of 1977 with Gladys Knight in “PIPE DREAMS” rated PG.With FIVE showings. Thank goodness the other IRVIN-FULLER Theatre in town had “STAR WARS” because on the other screen at the PLAZA was a VERY WEAK “STARSHIP INVASIONS” rated Pg.
