No I have not. Sometimes my source’s are back issues of old newspapers There is alot of the small town drive-ins that not on CT. I’m working on Hutchinson, KS drive-ins now.
You are correct is north of the location given. The reason why I use cross streets is because Google Maps are off some, sometimes by alot. It is close enough for the purpose of identifying the location of the drive-in.
Chris..I checked the aerials thinking I put the wrong date on the picture. That is the right date according to the website. Was the 100 Twin built/opened as a twin screen drive-in? We need a opening day ad, that would tell us. From my research there was not to many twin drive-ins being built in the early 1950’s. In Pensacola, FL. Gulf States Theatres opened one in 1952.
We’ll use this site to introduce our business and explain the goods and services we have to offer. The Drive-In opened in 1946. The screen used to sit on the south side of the property until a tornado came through, and when the owners (at that time) rebuilt they moved it to it’s current location on the west side. We have the capacity for over 300 cars in an evening. We have a large selection of food items at our concession stand along with the traditional Movie Loves of Fresh Popcorn, Soda and Candy; you can get a variety of sandwiches, we also have a fresh vegi box with ranch dipping sauce for the more healthy alternative.
Yup…It is closed!! That is the problem in small community’s, there just was not enough business to switch to digital projection. After reading some FB posts, I think maybe they quit to soon. You lease projectors now.
