It closed as a Pussycat in 1974(The Los Angeles Times and San Bernardino Sun newspapers can prove this)as a result of pressure from the neighbors. It operated under various names before closing as the Delmar in the late ‘80s after switching to Spanish films for a short time.
It actually opened in December 1980 as a sixplex. It wasn’t expanded until the early ‘90s. I remember reading the ads in the Review-Journal and seeing “Popeye” as one of the opening features. I no longer live in the area, but a quick search at the archives of both the R-J and Las Vegas Sun newspapers would confirm this.
Apparently,it has as of Tuesday night. I wonder if the lease ran out and Landmark decided not renew it. In any case, another L.A. single screen gem gone.
The venue closed, again,in late August because its owner failed to get a state tax license and because he owes the city and state money. Its sister club,Drink & Drag, located in the same building, has also closed. No word on when either will open.
Kenneth,I lived in Fontana from July 1983 to January 2006,though i briefly lived in San Bernardino from March 1994 to January 2001,and your info is wrong about its time as The Delmar. I went there regularly until they switched to Spanish films in around 1985-6,then it became a church until they closed it. Not sure what they’re doing with the building now.
SRO Theatres took over this and other Loewstheatres that didn’t go to GCC,including The Paramount/El Capitan in Hollywood and The Crest in Westwood, sometime around 1976.
The venue will open in mid June. the Guest House Theatres will primarily(sp?)show films from L.A based Guest House Pictures with other,non-porn,LGBT films mixed in.
It’s currently being being renovated as “The World’s Largest Gay Nightclub” to be called Krave Massive. It should be open by early January. Construction pics and a floor plan can be seen Krave Massive’s Facebook page.
Carmike already has one location in Fort Wayne,IN. Why would they buy the Rave a few miles away? Will it go with a bargain price policy the way the Coventry 13 when Starplex bought them from Regal?
A January 28,1974 story in Box Office Magazine about the theatres' reopening by a Kansas couple who said that no R or X movies would play there after the previous owner turned it into a short-lived porn theatre.(National General closed it in ‘73)

When the Meralta on Downey Avenue closed in 1978,This place became the place to see Disney releases old and new.
A pre-school and an adjoining(via shared parking lot in the middle)US Bank office now sit where the Avenue Theatre was.

Soon to be part of the Cinemark chain. Most likely under the Century name like the others in town, though it would be nice to call it a Cinemark.
