I remember the entrance from the feeder.. you entered under the screen which was like a tunnel and at the end you paid for your movie, then turned left or right depending on what screen your movie was on
I saw Saturday Night Fever here in early 1978. I was 8 yrs old. I remember while driving away from the theater late that night, on Shepherd going toward 610, seeing what looked like an old woman laying in the street at the curb. I don’t think anyone else in the car saw this but me.. I never forgot it.
The lobby is now a Golf Galaxy. Haven’t been inside but judging from the appearance on the outside the theater looks to have become a seperate entity. There are huge windows where the screen used to be and the wall over looking the front also has windows now.
Saw Gremlins in 84, Weird Science in 85, Fatal Attraction in 87 (it was a Dollar Cinema then)
.. in the 70s and 80s?
Wasn’t this an adult drive in theater?
@ JackCoursey.. No Urban Cowboy premiered at the Gaylynn at Sharpstown Mall
I saw this sign for the 45 Drive in painted over and was used for the short lived Lone Star Amphitheater on Westpark @ W Loop 610
The picture above is from about 1987. Chuck the pic in your first link is from 1984
I remember this being an adult movie theater in the 70s. It sat/sits across the street from the Weingarten shopping center on Lawndale

Bowen Tools took over the site. My father in law worked there during the late 80s through the 90s
