I can remember when Boulder, Colorado would have 6 to 8 midnight movies on a Friday night. I have trouble imagining 1 midnight movie, now days. When you’ve got 7.1 surround and HDTV (and you can watch in your underwear) it’s hard to sell going out for a movie… and that is a drag.
Not to take anything away from Miami but I’m bitting my nails waiting for Denver’s turn. BTW – AlAlvarez, I liked those lobby pictures connected to the Sheridan link.
Theaters claim to make their profit from concession sales but $5 for a popcorn is nuts. The last concessions I enjoyed were from the Egyptian in Portland, OR. In-house brewed beer and pizza (and it was cheap)!
This is your marketing plan? No pictures. No link to a preview. Not even a tease. As Dr. Evil once said, “Come on people, throw me a bone”. Give us something the peak our curiosity.
I visited the Cinerama since the remodel. What a cool theater! Even when it’s showing 70mm.
It kills me, here in Denver, that somebody didn’t have the foresight to treat the Cooper with the same respect.
You left out “the Nude Bomb”
If I were Pres', every Saturday night would be movie night!

Sorry I guessed the seating so poorly. I just remember that it seemed really tiny.

The Fox took over the original Tulagi building in 1950. Here’s a story about the bar and it mentions early history.

The U/A Regency is now the Foundry. It closed in the late ‘80’s or early '90’s.
I hope this helps clear a little up.
The bar in the picture posted “Ken MC” is actually next door to the Fox theater.
