Danny, the same thing happened with me with the water bottle issue; however, the concession counter will give you a free cup to use at the drinking fountain.
While the Burbank 16 has long been my favorite generic chain megaplex in LA, I was very put off when seeing “Red” last Thursday. Apparently, they’ve decided to include bottled water in AMC’s no outside food policy—ludicrous! I was told that if I didn’t want to pay for water, I would have to pour my bottle out and fill it up at the drinking fountain. While I loved AMC’s prior policy allowing outside food, I didn’t mind the introduction of a ban given theaters increasingly rely on concessions for profitability. But WATER!? Sheesh. I’ll consider a different theater next time.
Beware of the 7 row theaters in the middle of the multiplex, it’s not really worth $12 to see a movie in one of those, unless you like sitting 6 feet away from the screen.
AMC Burbank 16 is my favorite multiplex. $6 senior Tuesdays is a steal, what with free parking. I saw “Catfish” on Tuesday night and it was great. The 24-hour noodle shop next door serves good inexpensive food and Pinkberry is always a treat.
Nicely ginormous AMC multiplex. The layout is essentially one giant circle in which all 16 screens are accessible by following the pathway through the place. Yes, there’s IMAX Digital (or “IMAX-Lite”) there but, as of 3/26/2010, AMC has also installed their new ETX – Enhanced Theatre Experience – in this theatre as well – giving moviegoers access to 2 large format film experiences in the same theatre.
I took a peek in the ETX auditorium on 3/27…that screen is HUGE!
This theater is notable for being mentioned in a blog post by a Hollywood comedian who complained about seeing “Star Trek” in the IMAX digital screen, which was added to this theater as part of the AMC-IMAX deal.
