I operate this dr-in from 1999 to now, and it has only one screen 106 ft. wide. Unless a miracle happens that we can afford a digital proj. system, we will probably close for 2014. I & a lot of other people love this dr-in & would hate to see it go…

The Mahoning is being brought up to standards. It is also adding a second screen, digital and neon. A new marquee is being built this summer. More updated pictures will be up soon.

In 1956 it was owned by Ellis Theatres and parked 450 cars.

Made a few road trips to the drive-in last summer, drove out from Jersey book a room, catch the Sat. eve. show check out the flea market on Sunday, very cool place, Jeff the projectionist and his staff are very nice, has a real cool box office ,but last year they built a new box office behind the snack bar,labor/security? I hope they leave the old one it’s so retro! The screen is huge 130' that screen would make up a 12 plex in todays box theatres. These folks also own the Angela theatre in Coaldale which is another treasure.Support this drive-in !

I remember passing this drive-in many times when I would visit my buddy who managed the nearby Mahoning Valley Cinema 8. He told me the place did great business all summer long. Of course that was over 6 years ago, but I hope this place keeps going.

I so glad that we live near a drive-in. I grew up in Harrisburg with three drive-ins nearby. Unfortunately all but one is closed now. It really is an experience! I hope this theater will be around when my kids grow up!
