The main screen is 60 feet across.

Wally – where can we find out what is playing on the main screen?

Since the theater has been up and running, I have refused to go to any other place to watch a movie, for the most part my fiance agress, but we bent the rules for him to see Batman, and unfortunatly, being 6" tall, my legs hurt after the two hours lol

How large is the main screen, Im trying to explain to my friend in FL it would be worth the drive up here to go see something @ Camelot.

My wife and I went to Camelot this afternoon to see “Red Eye” and was told by the girl selling tickets that it was no longer playing. We mentioned that the “Red Eye” poster was still displayed on the building and that the newspaper said it was still playing at Camelot. The girl offered no further explanation so we ended up driving out to Cherrydale Cinemas to see “Red Eye” and therefore our first experience at Camelot this afternoon was not very pleasant.

The brothers Grimm is on the big screen in THX but not digital. I called the theater this morning. We also need to get more people to go to this theater because I’m afraid they are gonna go out of bussiness again. Me and my friend went to see 40 year old Virgin last Saturday at the 9:40 show and there were maybe 25 people in the whole theater. I don’t want this place to close down again! I hate Hollywood 20! I have had to get the police the last 2 times I have been there because of 50 cent wannabe’s! Let’s keep this place in bussiness people!

Thanks Michael. I knew that most films were not filmed digitally, but I wasn’t sure if the regular 35mm films were transferred to Hard Disk like some theaters and fed through the DLP projector much like a Home Projector system (on Steroids of course) or if there was a regular 35mm projector.

Do you happen to know if the current SWIII showing are on the big screen or being shown digitally in one of the smaller rooms OR is it currently being shown on a 35mm projector?

Last question I promise for tonight — do you know what is currently showing in the Main Room? I guess I can call tommorrow, but I live 75 miles away so it would be nice to plan an outing.

There aren’t enough movies being released in DLP Digital Projection format to justify only a digital projection system in screen #1’s booth. They have a projector for 35mm film presentation and another one for the DLP stuff.

For whatever reasons, I don’t believe the Camelot is showing in DLP any of the three currently available titles: “The Island,” “Sky High,” and “Valiant.”

Wally Fayssoux,

Sorry for the volley of questions, but can you explain exactly how the New Camelot is set up.

The main theater has the Barco DLP I’m assuming as the only projector, Digital Sound certified by Lucas THX, but no stadium seating — correct? There aren’t some films projected by a normal 35mm projector in this theater?

The other smaller theaters are all stadium seating?
Are those DLP projectors also or typical 35mm film projectors?
Sound in the smaller theaters — Regular Dolby Dig, DTS, other? Are these THX certified as well?

Is there anyway to currently tell at the Camelot website which movies are currently playing in the Main Theater? Originally, SWIII was listed as Digital when it was in the main theater, but now I can’t find (or I’m missing something) any designation to distinguish.

Thanks for any help.

Wally,
“The Island” and “Sky High” are scheduled to have Digital Cinema presentations. Are either booked to play digital at the Camelot?

High Def??? Do you mean digital? If so, the answer is no, the next all digital film will probably be Chicken Little….check digitalcinematoday.com for a list of upcoming digital release….Just about everything is in digital sound, but the digital print gives the “high def” effect you are looking for. Thanks – W

This might sound stupid but is there anyway to tell if the movie is in the stadium seating or the old seating? I didn’t notice the website saying either? Was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in High Def?

wallyfayssoux

Charlie and Chocolate Factory is on the big screen right now…unfortunately, the studios are simply not releasing the films in digital that were originally slated to be in a digital format…hopefully the trend will change next year…Thanks for your patience on the stadium seating… screens 4,5,6 and 7 are now complete…the stadium seating on 2 and 3 should begin in the next few weeks… thanks – wally

Is Fantastic 4 on the big screen and is it in High Def? Was also wondering if the stadium seating was finished? Saw Batman Begins a few weeks back there and it was regular seating. Was a little dissapointed that WOW wasn’t in high def. Glad to see the place back open again and I usually go there 2-4 times a month. I also make sure to tell everyone about the theater whenever I get the chance. We gotta keep this place open! I hate going to the Hollywood 20! Too many teenagers running around playing cell phone tag all night!

One more thing, you need to add a picture of the Camelot on this page.

Wally,

I have a request, can you mark the movie playing in the main room on your web sight. For that matter can you mark what is showing in digital. I intend to only go to Camelot to see movies and want to make it profitable for you to show digital films.

“What model is the Barco projector in #1” (ShaneRoach, May 23, 2005)

According to dcinematoday.com, screen #1 at the Camelot is equipped with a Barco D-Cine DP100 (which is a current-generation projector with 2K resolution).

For those who may be curious or have an interest in this subject, here is a link to a list of worldwide venues showing “Episode III” in D-Cinema. Note that in some respects the list is a work-in-progress and in some locations the D-Cinema engagement has ended.

I check, but if its LucasFilm and digital, we’ll have it.

I was reading yesterday about the Disney/Lucasfilm/Dolby 3-D “Chicken Little” in the fall that would be exclusive to digital theatres. I realize that this is VERY far ahead of time…but any word on this from your end?

1 Hour and half,I made the drive two weeks ago. Take 25 all the way into into down town and turn right at the bridge construction just past the BiLo center. The theater is approximately 1 mile up Laurens Road at the intersection of Antrim and Laurens Road. Drive carefully. – Wally

I live in Asheville, about how far is the theater from me?

Folks,
The last showing of Star Wars on the main DLP in the THX room is tonight. We’ll still have it in digital in a smaller auditorium, but without THX. War of the Worlds opens tomorrow in the big room. Just a quick heads up as I know some of you wanted to know when it would be moved. Thanks for the support – Wally

Unfortunately Batman was not released in digital, nor is War of the Worlds, which is the next big movie to come to the theater. We will show WOW in the big room, but we will only have the option of film….I think the next movie for the DLP will be Fantastic Four, but I will need to check on that. We are weeks away from completing construction so hopefully we can have the grand opening in July with a new digital film…I’ll let you know. – Wally

When can we expect something besides Sith to be on the DLP? I plan on seeing Batman today and would have LOVED to see it on the DLP!
