The only thing that’s not good about this theater is that it’s too small, and that there’s no stadium seating like Manville, and unlike manville, bridgewater commons is owned by a larger corporation.

BTW, how is business at the theater since the new rockaway theater opened? Prices at this and other clearview cinemas around morris county are a bit cheaper than AMC’s, although AMC’s morning shows are cheaper than the matinees at clearview.

Any news on when the theater will be replaced by the 16 screen version? It’s been awhile.

Any plans for a 25th anniversary event at the theater one year from this month? It would be nice to see hit movies from every year that played at the theater. How has business been at Wayne after Clifton Commons opened?

Any word on when digital projection comes to this theater? Since it’s a new theater, I think it will take some time before I see some good summer movies on a big HD-like screen. Also, how is business at the Rockaway compared to their competition?

so sad to hear about it, my late uncle larry and aunt pat went to that theater, as well as Washington Township, Pascack, the Warner Quad, and of course, the Paramus theaters. Any word on when the new 16-plex will open? If it does, then most of the smaller theaters will be extinct.

According to a guy who posted on the NJ.com website’s Sparta forum, the biggest theaters in the building are 8 and 9. This is one reason traffic has been getting heavy to the area via Route 80 on weekends.

Look at how well the AMC ROckaway theatres have done to the town whose audience went to either East Hanover, Mansfield, Succasunna, Chester, Parsippany, or Morristown back when AMC closed it in favor of a Best Buy. Opening a new multiplex in an up year is fine, especially when the two busiest multiplexes in MOrris County (both clearview’s in ledgewood and parsippany) got remodeled with more auditoriums, and better seating, screens, and sound. That brings more people to the movies, to see a pirate on the big screen.

It’s a pre-show that usually shows commercials, ads for tv shows and videogames, as well as AMC First Look, which is an exclusive sneak peek at upcoming movies, in this case, the new “Reno 911” movie which looks funny!!! The digital preshow is shown using a video projector on the giant screen, resulting in a grid-like image which looks like the Jumbotron in New York’s Times Square. The sound quality is pretty good, but it’s not in widescreen. The presentation lasts around 20 minutes, and then the film reels roll with the typical movie and policy trailers (all in 35mm film). I hope AMC in the future gets its two largest theatres installed with digital projectors (DLP)!!!

Just went to the theater today to see Borat, and boy, this is the best movie theater around town! A big, almost IMAX-like screen in theater #15, surround sound, plus a digital pre-show…although the tickets are more pricey than Clearview, the seats are more comfortable and the parking is convenient.

What were the seating arraignments for the Rockaway theaters before it was closed and rebuilt as a 16-plex this year?

I agree with you. What sound formats do the new screens offer? And are they THX-certified, like the Clifton Commons theater?

I agree with you, it will open this week and it might become a Cinema Treasure if people treat the theater like a great movie theater.

I read on the AMC website that it doesn’t have stadium seating, but they’re wrong, I guess. No digital projection. I wonder which celebrities will attend the gala premiere of the Theatre, which will screen “Deck the Halls” one day before the free movie day sponsored by the Daily Record and AMC.

Just went to this theater a few weeks ago to see “Nightmare Before Christmas” in 3-D; it was awesome!!! The ticket line was a bit long and the food a bit salty, but the picture and sound quality are great!!! The stadium seating is huge, too!!! This is the closest theatre I went to to see a 3-D movie since going to the AMC/Loews Lincoln Square IMAX theater many times since the mid-to-late 1990’s through the early 2000’s.

If you check the theater’s website at http://www.amctheatres.com/ there’s tons of stuff do to before and after the grand opening of the multiplex. The first movie I’ll probably see is Casino Royale…the way it was meant to be seen…on a giant screen!!!

Just went by the theatre today and looks like the exterior is completed but the interior is still under construction. The AMC logo is visible from route 80, so moviegoers who want to see a movie take the exit for the rockaway mall and drive by the stores and enter the large parking lot. Any other stats on the theatre, which will open just in time for the latest james bond movie?
