Listed in the 1943 edition of Film Daily Yearbook as being operated by RKO Theaters. It has gone from listings by 1950. From February 1954 a C.O. was issued for use as a church.
Two photographs of Loew’s Burland Theatre I took in June 2005. I am not sure, but I believe the supermarket use has now closed and the foyer has been turned into a 24 hour laundry & cleaners, but this was also closed when I visited in the middle of the afternoon. Maybe it had yet to open? http://www.flickr.com/photos/kencta/226244825/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kencta/226245563/
The Art Theatre is listed in the Film Daily Yearbook;1926 edition with a seating capacity of 690 (590 in the 1930 edition, 600 in 1940 and 580 in 1950). It had gone from listings in 1957.
I have the Tiffany Theatre still listed in the 1957 edition of Film Daily Yearbook but without a seating capacity given, which usually indicates a recent closure.
The American Motion Picture Directory 1914-1915 has the following theatres listed for Maspeth, L.I.:
Columbia Theatre, 61 Grand Street
Flushing Airdome, Flushing Avenue & Seidler Street
Idle Hour Theatre, Muller & Grand Street's
Mariondale Theatre, (no further details given)
I can’t find a Kossuth Theatre listed in the New York section of the American Motion Picture Directory 1914-1915, so I presume that the theatre opened either late 1915, 1916 or even in 1917 as the advertisement Warren posted is for that year, and closed by 1926.

South Pacific ran at the Dominion Cinema (Road-show performances) from 21st April 1958 until 30th September 1962. It was certainly a British record for a long run totalling 4 years – 22 weeks.
Samuel Goldwyn wanted to premier “Porgy and Bess” at the Dominion. but had to wait three years for “South Pacific” to end its run. “Porgy and Bess” was not such a great success and it was followed by “Cleopatra” in August 1963. This was followed by “The Sound of Music” (29th March 1965 to 31st June 1968) and then the theatre was re-decorated and opened on 18th July 1968 with “Star” which was not so succesful.
