I saw GWTW in 70mm and agree but I think they could print it 70mm and leave it in the academy ratio and you would have a very sharp square picture but the whole idea was to simulate widescreen.
I finally dug out and scanned some pics of the Columbia from a night it hosted a live bodybuilding show.

I think I saw Zoot Suit at the Rivoli, not sure if they ran it in 70mm.
Go back to 100 foot screens to overwhelm people. The ways movies should be seen.
I have loads of pictures of the Haven I just need to find time to scan them.
