The theatre is across from Shea’s Buffalo. It shows independent and classical films along with mainstream films.

The Boulevard Drive-In was in Sanborn which is just outside Niagara Falls, NY. The Boulevard,Auto-Vue, and Starlite were all owned by the Cataract Theatre Corporation. They were all torn down in the 70’s. The only remaining drive-in in Niagara County is the Transit in Pendelton.

In the book Silent Screens by Michael Putnam there is a picture of this theater (p.34). A sign above the doors lists it as Joy Temple Institutional C.O.G.I.C. Outreach Ministry. The year the picture was taken was 1986

There are some really great pictures of the interior of this theatre on the site above. I would have loved to see this theatre when its marquee was intact.

There was a nice article on this theatre in the Niagara Gazette on Sat.Dec.16th. Hopefully, the renovation plan for this theatre will bring some life back to the neighborhood.

There has been a weekly movie festival featuring films which were made in Western New York over the Summer. Films like The Natural and Niagara played on the big screen.

The former theater on Main St. was once the Mancuso. It was later turned into a twin and now is used as a church

There was a theater in Niagara Falls,NY which was originally known as the Falls and later became the State Theater. It looked amazingly like the Patio. Unfortunately the State was torn down. Before it was torn down they found some signs advertising talking movies. I hope someone can save the Patio.

TOY has done an excellent job of refurbishing the theater! It would be helpful if a marquee or some type of sign were erected to replace the original marquee.

I Remember all of these theaters except the Colonial. The Hippodrome later became the Niagara Falls Cinema and closed in 2002. Shea’s Bellevue became the Rapids and is now The Dome Theater which is used for musical performances. The Capitol is vacant and the rest have been torn down.
