The Rialto Theater was opened May 7, 1925. Now old and dilapidated, it is hanging on as small local concert venue. It was a neat theater that switched to Spanish language movies in the mid-1960’s. It was owned and operated by the Jones family. It fits in on a deserted downtown street in Brownfield.

It looks to me like it burned sometime after that 2004 photo was taken.
Why do you say that?

The artwork seems to have been restored. It is currently for sale.
I went through Brownfield again in 10/2021 and there seems to be a new painting on this theater. Not sure who covered the western artwork with A Stary Sky copy and red accents. Maybe the owner is trying to make it more attractive to sell. The western one was more meaningful to this part of Texas’s history.
