Graphic Theatre

In 1908, the 400-seat Graphic Theatre was located at 713 Commercial Street. It was operated by Chatburn & Sheeks and operated 2 shows a day. This early theatre appears on the 1910 Sanborn, in a simple one story brick building with a wooden front. This was either a remodel or a replacement of an earlier building constructed sometime between 1896 and 1901, when a saloon was located here. The theatre building seems mostly the same, except extended to the rear.

This theatre may have been a precursor to the later Orpheum Theatre on this site. It was still operating in 1914, but was soon closed and demolished for the construction of the larger new theatre.
