Located in the Al-Hamra district of central Beirut in the base of a 7-storey Streamline Moderne style apartment building. The Colisee Cinema was opened in the 1950’s. It was closed around 1984 and has stood abandoned.
In early-2024 it was taken over by TIRO Association for Arts who are planning to restore and reopen the cinema as the Lebanese National Theater in Beirut.
