Located in Templemore, County Tipperary. The Abbey Cinema opened by July 1931. On 29th June 1937 it was taken over by the Roscrea & Athy Cinema Company. It had 550 seats and was equipped with a Philips sound system. It also hosted boxing tournaments, meetings and concerts. It was closed in February 1976. The cinema was put up for sale in 1980. It was later demolished and the site is now occupied by a car showroom.

The car yard is Toyota. There is also a service station(Texaco). Did there used to be an abbey on this site?

The cinema had opened by July 1931, taken over by the Roscrea & Athy Cinema Company and reopened on 29 June 1937 after a short spell of closure for upgrading. Final closure planned for end of February 1976.
