The Harlem Theatre was the second exclusively African American audience movie theatre in Greenville, SC launching in 1951 and joining the smaller Liberty Theatre that had opened in 1918. The 550-seat theatre likely closed in 1971 but all references to the venue end in 1965. It became the Evangelistic Temple in the 1970’s and was demolished in 2003.
