Politeani Theatre

Located in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. This opened as a movie theatre in 1912 operated by Gaspare Poccio. By 1914 it had been named Politeani Theatre and was closed in 1915.

In later years the building was given a new façade, and has been in use as a church. When seen in June 2013, there were cracks in the façade, and the building looked in a dangerous condition, probably the reason the church had moved out.

I tried to find the actual photo of the property, but the closest I could get was next door, and you can make out that by the 1940’s the theater was “Majestic Hall”.
