went with my mom to see “darby o gill and the little people” back in 1961.closed up and sat empty for years.is currently a bar in almost desolate parsons ave area.
Is the Deuces Two Bar really the former theatre? Doe anyone know for sure? The address of the bar is 1814 Parsons Ave. I know numbering changes sometimes, but it seems that 1822 would be the big empty lot next to the bar. There’s no way that bar building was a theatre that sat 600 people. Maybe the theatre stood next door and has since been knocked down?
The Russell was not at the location of the Deuces Two bar…it was the empty lot next door. The statement in the description is not correct.
The last day of operation was 7/22/1961, playing the movie YOUNG SAVAGES.
