The First Avenue Theatre was opened in 1949. It was showing "Bridge Under the Sun" on December 1, 1961 with admission sixty cents for adults and twenty-five cents for kids. During the 1970’s it was run by an outfit called Chris McGuire Cinemas.

It closed as a Chris McGuire Theatre whatever that was.

The McGuire Sisters bouht the theaters from Lam Amusement Co.. They defaulted on the loan and the Lam’s took bck over the theaters.
