The Strand in Rome is listed under Kallet Theatres Inc. of Oneida NY in the 1942-43 Motion Picture Almanac. At the time, Kallet also ran the Capitol Theatre and the Family Theatre in Rome.

The Strand opened in 1911 as the Carrol. The Kallets took over in 1921 changing the name to the Strand. As a kid I hung around the booth. They had Motiograph model K projectors, WE 206 soundheads and Brenkert Enarc lamps. The Strand closed October 21, 1962 and was torn down sometime in ‘64 or '65.

The caption of a (rather dark and blurry) photo of the Strand in the August 1, 1970, issue of the Rome Daily Sentinel (PDF here) says that the building was demolished in 1964.

The bulk of the page is a reprint of an interesting 1928 article about Rome’s theaters, but the article is incomplete, and I’ve been unable to find the subsequent page on which it continues. The archive from which it comes may be incomplete itself.
