This smaller theatre was located in Fort Gordon, Georgia but like the ones outside the post it looked like any cinema one would find on Mainstreet USA. I remember seeing the theatre a couple of times, but by that time I had quit going out to the base with my dad. It was a single screen theatre smaller than the larger one which is now a Dinner Theatre. It too, showed the best of Hollywood in 35mm. Ray Hutto, who built the Southside Cinema by hand took the 242 seats out of this theatre when it closed in the early-1980’s, fixed them, painted them and put them in his own theatre.

Really Amazing the Army & Air Force theatres would have built a new theatre on Post. Most if not all the guys and gals stationed there were taking taxis on the post bus out to Augusta’s Theatres once the weekend hit,I know we got hundreds at Regency Mall I,II,&III during the early 80’s when that Mall was Georgia’s Largest.

In1965 we still had the draft. The theaters on base where always filled. It was only 35 cents to see a movie. I would go into Agusta on Sat and Sun and see some movies. The base had 4 or 5 theaters that where run by the Army on base. Movies would show at one theatre for a day or two then move to another theater on base.
