Rexview Drive-In

The Rexview Drive-In opened September 22, 1948 with Shirley Temple in “Honeymoon”. Car capacity was listed at 450 cars. The screen was destroyed on April 18, 1953 by a tornado and rebuilt. It was operated by the Georgia Theatre Co. until 1961, when Martin Theatres took over ownership.

The Rexview Drive-In closed in 1980 and was demolished in April 1983. The site is now the Columbus Technical College.

The screen and speaker were not done away with till the late 8o’s .

This opened on September 22nd, 1948 and closed in 1980. Grand opening ad in the photo section.

The tornado that ripped the screen apart was in April of 1953, not 1952.
