Savoy Hotel

Originally a Conservative Club & Social Hall. The Bohemia Cinema opened in 1922. In 1929 it was renamed Savoy Cinema. Always independently operated, the Savoy Cinema was closed in 1959. It was demolished in 1966 and a new shopping precinct was built on an expanded site.

The cinema is in the centre of the photo with W.H.Batten & Co written on the front. Photo dates from around 1960. (courtesy of Egham Museum photo archive).

Demolished in the 1980s, replaced by the precinct development.
