Cinema Rialto

Located on the via Nazionale, one of central Rome’s major streets, at the corner of Via Delle Tre Cannelle. The Cinema Rialto is a single storey building. It had a fairly small seating capacity on one level.

Possibly opened in the 1930’s, it closed in 1998. In 2008, the foyer is in use as a cafe/bar and the auditorium is used for storage.

I saw this theatre when I was in Rome. Something out of Cinema Paradiso.

I saw Marco Ferreri’s film “Il seme dell'uomo” here on August 31, 1970. I remember liking the cinema’s programming as well as the fine cafe' that was part of the establishment.

Gerald you actually record the date and location of every film you’ve seen? Over what period of time? Why?
