Strand Theatre

Opened in 1917. In 1935 it was operated by Famous Players, the theater was taken over by Kamloops Cinema Holdings Ltd. in 1995.

The Strand Theatre was taken over by the Canadian circuit Landmark Cinemas of Canada in 1998. It closed in January 2005. It was demolished in March 2018.

The April 8, 1917, issue of The Moving Picture World had an article about the recently opened Strand Theatre in Brandon, Manitoba. The Canadian Amusement Company operated the house under lease from owner J. H. Hughes. The manager was George Semper.

Status should be closed/renovating. The Brandon Folk Music, & Art Festival is currently fund raising for this project.

The Strand is being demolished according to this article, which has photos of ghost signs that were revealed when the walls were removed.
