The Palace is listed in the 1970 motion picture almanac, probably due to printing deadlines. By the 1981 edition, the Palace has disappeared, as has the Hiway in New Market, VA, another Dalke’s theater.

In 1949, My Father lived across the street from the Palace Theatre. He lived at 42 South Loudon Street on the 2nd floor over Moulden’s Electical Appliance Shop. In November of 1949, Patsy Cline played at the Palace Theatre.

Technically, this theatre opened as Hable’s Palace Theatre owned by Henry H. Hable (see photos). It later became the Palace Theatre.
