Colonial Theatre

Open since at least 1926 when a Moller organ (opus 4607) was installed. This theatre is listed without a street address in the 1956 Film Daily Yearbook, but had gone from listings in 1957. The building was still there in the early-1960’s

It was located on the main drag (Philadelphia Ave.)I believe that it was part of the early “The Franks” chain. My good friend John Rogers of MaysLanding, NJ use to work there as projectionist. John. is now in his eighties. He visited me in the booth of the Delsea Drive-in, when I was running it in 2004.

I don’t remember ever seeing a theater on Philadelphia Avenue in the sixties or seventies. I wonder when this theater closed?

It was still there in the very early 60s.
