The Lincoln Theatre was operating by 1926 as an African-American theatre, initially presenting vaudeville. By 1930 it had gone over to movies. In July 1937 it was renamed Roosevelt Theatre. The theatre is listed in the 1945 Film Daily Yearbook as being in operation and seating 700.

The 1941 F.D.Y. lists the Roosevelt(455 seats). In the 1943 edition of F.D.Y. it is listed as ‘Closed’ 455 seats.

The Lincoln Theatre was an African American theater located in the Arcade Building. listed as for sale in 1936. The venue found a new operator who renamed it the Roosevelt Theatre in a July of 1937 relaunch. That proved to be short-lived.
