Theaters Wanted

posted by Lawford on March 23, 2006 at 7:04 am

Hello everyone, we are Chalet Theaters LLC and we specialize in acquiring theaters from people or companies that are closing or in need of restoration. We currently lease and have purchased 9 theaters from Cinema Treasures (private people and companies) and are in need of a few more. We specialize in leasing/buying ones that are suffering and need repairs and the owners cannot afford to do so.

If it is a non-profit theater, we will lease it, renovate it, restore and then return it to the non-profit. We have many creative ideals and would like to talk further with anyone that has a theater for sale or lease. Thanks for your time!

hi, you, of course are in the u.s., does the theatre have to be american? i ask, as i’m in canada, and i know of a beautiful large theatre in winnipeg manitoba that closed in 1988. there has been a lot of talk about what to do with it, but nothing has resulted yet. latest proposal is a rock n roll museum, but city fathers, i think, are still sitting on their hands. it is a protected heritage building, category 1. i went to this palace many times as a kid, when i lived there. it would be great if someone made the move to do something with this place. if u check the comments re. it, there are many many of us concerned with its fate. it’s the metropolitan.

Please let me know if you need theater seating. I represent a full service company out of China that has every type of chair and prices to die for. Please contact me at or phone/fax me at 514-937-2523. This is direct sales from company to company with no middle man to muddle the prices. I work on a very small commission payed by the manufacturer.

Sincerely,
Zbigniew Mandryk

I recently listed the “Parkway Theatre” located in the heart of West Park, Stowe Twp. PA. It is located just minutes from Downtown, Pgh. I did have a potential buyer who wanted to restore the theater for 2nd run movies, performances, conferences, etc. to help strengthen the community but unfortunately is relocating to another part of the country. As a real estate agent, I have had the opportunity to speak with many people who grew up in this area then raised their children and grandchildren. Stowe Twp. & the Parkway Theater has a wonderful history that many people still brag about today.

The Parkway Theatre is currently owned by a church. They have replaced the chairs, roof, installed 2 new furnaces/AC systems. Electrical & plumbing has also been updated.
It is still up for sale. We are hoping to find a buyer that can appreciate its history and use it to strengthen the community. If you are interested or know anyone who might be interested, please contact me at (). Thanks!
