Plitt didn’t give a ringing endorsement to the Ridgewood relegating the theater to $1 sub-run discount status in 1979. The circuit was turning its attention to the grand opening of its new Plitt Cinema in Dallas' Caruth Plaza opening the same day that the Ridgewood was downgraded.
