News About This Theater

Tarlton Theatre

Built as an auto dealership in the 1920’s. The building was converted into a movie theatre by Standard Theatres Management Corp, which opened November 14, 1941 as the West Theatre. The opening movie was Errol Flynn & Fred MacMurray in “Dive Bomber”. On June 12, 1987 the West Theatre became a brew'n'view style movie theatre called the West Pitcher Show.

Most recently, known as the Historic West Theatre, it showed second-run, independent and foreign features. It also hosted live entertainment and was also used as a dance club after the last movie is screened. The West Theatre was the only art house in all of northeastern Wisconsin. A posting in 2004 on the West’s website announced that the theatre will be closing soon, leaving the Green Bay region, at least for now, without a venue for art house films.

It reopened as the Tarlton Theatre on December 15, 2018. Serving a full dinner menu of classic American fare, a full liquor bar. Featuring movies on screen a few nights a week and live entertainment on stage at weekends. It is open Tuesday-Saturday at 5pm.
