William “Bud” W. Hill rebuilt and provided a large pipe organ in memory of his mother in the Shea Civic Theater. After the theatre closed, he relocated the Pipe Organ to his home where he enjoyed it with his organist wife, Alix. It was central to their large Christmas parties for many years.

He passed away on October 16, 2020. Bud was a native son of Ashtabula and was a Pipe Organ Aficionado. He was also the force behind the 3 Manual 16 Rank Kimball Theatre Pipe Organ, originally in the Lincoln-Dixie Theatre, Chicago Heights, Illinois, to be rebuilt and installed in Lakeside High School in Ashtabula in 2013.

If there is any interest in restoring the Shea Theatre, I would like to donate a Pipe Organ to the project. I have another one of Bud’s instruments from his summer home in Chautauqua, NY. Contact me at Thom
