The Marquam Grand Opera House, also known as the Orpheum, is seen here in 1912. The theater adjoined the Marquam Building, seen to the right in this photo. On November 11, 1912, the building began to collapse due to faulty building materials. It was demolished in 1913 and replaced by the American Bank Building. The theater remained in use through 1923.
