This is Route 41 running through downtown Ft. Myers in 1950. If you were wondering where the Ritz Theatre was, there’s a neon sign sticking out of the brightly-lit side of the building in the center of the photo (right side of the street) directing folks to the Ritz Theatre in Patio de Leon to the right. A box office was also available where the sign was on Route 41 / First Street.

While that building still exists and enters into the Patio de Leon, the space behind that building is now vacant and was the former Ritz Theatre.
