The Ivy Square Shopping Center was designed with the Baylor University potential patronage in mind. In addition to the Ivy Twin Cinema launching October 18, 1974 for Cinemas Southwest Theatre Circuit, the center would have an arcade called Games People Play that included pinball and some early video games and a Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlor. In the photos above, the Ivy Square is being built and in the picture below the theater has been completed with Z.F. Cook of Cinemas Southwest at left.
