Florence Budgen (1868-1960) opened her film exhibition business, the Don Picture Show, at the Darwin Town Hall on Feb 22, 1913. The following year it was proposed to transfer her business and build an open-air sports and entertainment venue to be known as the Stadium (Still associated with Don Pictures) - Florence secured the lease of a concrete site of former buildings located at the Corner of Cavenagh and Bennett streets Darwin, and built an open air enclosure. This was little more than four walls of corrugated iron, 16 ft high and open to the weather with a screen at one end. Despite this the seating was stepped upwards and the sight lines were excellent. A powerful Tangye Colonial oil Engine was purchased to generate electric light. The public were asked to patronise and support a purely local enterprise.

Screening at the Don. - Drusilla with a Million is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by F. Harmon Weight and written by Lois Zellner. It is based on the 1916 novel Drusilla With a Million by Elizabeth Cooper. The film stars Mary Carr, Priscilla Bonner, Kenneth Harlan, Henry A. Barrows, William J. Humphrey, and Claire Du Brey. The film was released on June 18, 1925.
