Photograph showing the Compton Theatrone electronic organ being played by organist Henry Croudson accompanying singer Lesley Welch for the special opening concert given for the late installation of the Compton some eight months after the Regal had opened. As no provision had been made in the original plans for an organ lift, the console was fitted with concealed castors to be pushed on and off the stage when the front house curtains were closed.
