It is claimed that the Chinese Gardens Theatre is the biggest and most elaborate open-air theatre in Australia.

Although out-door theatres are not an innovation for Australia — there are several in Queensland and Western Australia — until the erection of the Adelaide Chinese Gardens by S.A. Theatres Ltd. no attempt had been made to build one on an atmospheric design - Contributed by Greg Lynch -
