Kiss Me Kate one of the best 3D movies Hollywood has ever produced
Two projector 3D Presentation from 1953
Kiss Me Kate’s director George Sidney (1948’s The Three Musketeers), its cinematographer Charles Rosher and choreographer Hermes Pan worked hard to use 3D to its full potential and made routines dazzle and pop – effectively replicating the experience of seeing the musical live.
Not only is Kiss Me Kate a ‘true’ 3D film, but it’s also a film that recognizes 3D is best used to replicate things that are intended to be seen in the flesh – like a Broadway musical. That’s what makes Kiss Me Kate one of the best 3D movies Hollywood has ever produced - Notes by Helen ARMITAGE

In my opinion and many other 3D film lovers not one of the best 3D films ever made. Shot on a stage set with just a few 3D pop off effects. Great color and stereophonic sound. Played mostly just in 2D when It was released. Now restored on Blu Ray 3D with the stereo sound track. Like ‘Dial M For Murder’ very limited use of the 3D effects. Mainly depth shots.
