The First Batman: Lewis Wilson in the 1943 Movie Serial

Lewis Wilson was the first actor to play Batman in a live-action production, starring in the 15-chapter Columbia Pictures film serial simply titled Batman, released in 1943.

Legacy: It introduced elements that became permanent fixtures of the mythos, most notably the Batcave (then called “The Bat’s Cave”) and the secret entrance through a grandfather clock.
