Less than an hour and a half after the final screenings of “The Last Edition,” a boiler explosion decimated the Opera House early January 22, 1926. This would be the theater’s last ad and screening. Neither the Saturday listings of “On the Go” and “Perils of the Wild” nor the Charleston contest took place due to the severity of the damage.
