Located on the north side of Wellington Street opposite Millington Street. The Perth Entertainment Centre opened on 27th December 1974. The Academy Twin Cinemas opened (on the front of the Perth Entertainment Centre (left hand side on 17th January 1975 with “The Long Swift Sword of Siegfried”(Academy 1)and, “The Winners”(Academy 2). The Academy late shows(every Friday) began on 30th January 1975 with “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner”.

Name changed to Academy West End Alternative Cinemas in June 1986. Name changed to Lumiere Cinema in 1989. The Lumiere Cinema closed on 28th June 1996. It was briefly re-opened in 1997 as the Encore 1 & 2. The theatre then remained empty, and was demolished along with the Perth Entertainment Centre( which closed in 2006) on 11th May 2011. The site is proposed to become 2 apartments and 4 office towers.
